Welcome to Mothercare & Early Learning Centre
Our history:
Mothercare stores are the most specialized shops for expectant mothers, babies, and children up to 12 years old. The Mothercare name has earned the trust of consumers and has become a symbol of safety and quality, recognized internationally.
The first store opened in 1961 in Surrey, England. In the beginning, Mothercare focused on pushchairs, nursery furniture, and maternity wear, but later expanded to become a specialist in baby and children’s clothing. Today, Mothercare has a presence in over 90 countries around the world!
Early Learning Centre (ELC) was founded in 1974, when its first store opened in Reading, England. From the very beginning, ELC’s mission has been to design and create safe toys that make learning fun and help children develop essential skills.
Mothercare & Early Learning Centre in Greece
In Greece, Mothercare and Early Learning Centre are part of I. KLOUKINAS – I. LAPPAS S.A., which was founded in 1978 as a construction company but gradually evolved into a group of companies active in the retail and energy sectors. The company has been listed on the stock exchange since 2004.
Mothercare Greece since 1987
Greece was one of the first countries chosen by the parent company in the UK to expand its operations, with the first store opening in Athens in 1987.
Today, there are 20 stores operating across Greece. At Mothercare, attention to detail often makes all the difference. Our products are specially designed and carefully developed, with emphasis on even the smallest detail.
Safety, comfort, and hygiene are the key pillars in the development of all our products, as well as the foundation of all the services we offer.
At Mothercare stores, expectant mothers can find everything they need from the moment they become pregnant until their child turns 12 years old.
Early Learning Centre Greece since 2004
The first Early Learning Centre store opened in Glyfada, Greece, in 2004, the same year as the Athens Olympic Games. In 2007, ELC merged with Mothercare, and since then, ELC can be found in 20 locations across Greece, either in standalone stores or together with Mothercare.
